TY171 caterpillar

This was quite a late opportunity for something tiny today! This evening my son came across this caterpillar by chance when my daughter knocked the cucumber plant with her crutch and it fell off! He brought it into the house but it was in a ball and he didn’t know if it was alive as he says it was ‘playing dead’.

He put it on a piece of tissue and waited patiently to see if it uncurled itself and eventually is did! So of course he put it in his caterpillar house with some leaves from the cucumber plant and a slice of cucumber too. He was so excited he told his friend all about it when we got to his swimming session tonight and it is in his bedroom so he can see it first thing tomorrow!

There is a cocoon in our garden at the moment too which he keep inspecting. A blip for another day!!!
