this will have to do

We came home late last night under a clear sky brilliant with stars.
I stayed out and played a bit with long exposures and so on until the camera battery went, not with any great seriousness but with every intention of going out again this evening to try to capture the new moon.
Today couldnt be more different, heavy rain and winds. I couldnt get out for any other pictures at all so this one taken at two am will have to do.
What's interesting is that the camera has picked up many more stars than were visible to the naked eye. I was trying to get Orion, but it is obscured by all the other stars. The bright light at the very top of the shot is Jupiter.
