No.1 The Larch*

A fine forecast saw me up the A9 to Blair Atholl for some long overdue hillwalking. I headed up Glen Tilt to Gilbert's Bridge walking through some beautiful tree scapes. The early morning light cast bright across the auburn hills. The tops of the hills were white with snow.

On the way over Beinn a Chait (899m) I followed a group of 15 red deer up the hillside. Then higher up a flock of grouse erupted from the heather and disappeared into the wind.

I crossed Glen Diridh and then headed south over Beinn Mheadhonach (901m) to pick up the Corbett. The summit was a cold place, hovering about -5C with 15mph wind and light snow showers from the west.

Back to the car in the gloaming after 16miles walking.
