Grandpa trying to translate “io mangio il carne” from Italian to English: I’ve just eaten the dog

Grandma on our discussion as to why “formica” means “ant” in Italian: if you taste ant’s pee it’s very acid
Long story short, as a child in Switzerland they would trick one another to dip a stick into an ant’s nest and taste their pee...which consists of Formic acid so tastes acidic.
