The Kirk Burn

I have probably walked in Cardrona Forest on the south side of the Tweed, just East of Peebles, more than anywhere else. It is my "local" and I never tire of it. The ever changing colours of the vegetation and the play of light through the trees mean it never looks the same twice. And there is a range of walks lasting from an hour to most of a day.

Today would have been closer to the former if it hadn't been for the usual faffing around with tripod and filters (two things that contribute to photography being a solo occupation). There were several other people enjoying the forest, some of whom I bumped into several times, and some of whom also had cameras, leading
to some friendly chat.

This is the Kirk Burn, which results from the confluence of Skemiscleuch Burn, Highlandshiels Burn and Glenpeggy Burn.
