Grand day out ...

I had taken today as annual leave to hike the Lairig Ghru but a pulled back muscle a few weeks back put paid to that, for the time being at least. 

 Instead we headed northwards and eastwards to Dunnotter Castle, just outside Stonehaven.

It was worth it: an absolutely stunning setting and we were lucky with the weather and sea which was the most beautiful shades of blue. I even braved the cliff top walk to war memorial (but came back along the road). Drove back via Royal Deeside then Glenshee.
