The Festival Son Miré has offered some pretty wacky sound experiences in the past, so this duo of harpsichord and soprano to open the festival was relatively tame and very pleasant; a mixture of baroque (Bach and Purcell) and contemporary (French composer Christian Dachez and Englishman Graham Lynch). We heard the world premiere of a piece Dachez had written specifically for them. And tango on a harpsichord, which is probably a first too. The early evening concert was in the cloister of Notre Dame de la Consolation, a lovely spot to lounge in a deckchair listening to music.

Afterwards I popped home to pick up S and we headed back out to O Mazette for tapas. It was crowded, and ... "Full," said the waiter, "We're expecting 60 people to arrive any minute." Disappointed, we turned away, and spotted friends L and G, so we paused to say hello to them before leaving. L is a native of Fabrezan and all of a sudden a table was found, admittedly inside while everyone else was outside. We ordered swiftly, before the masses arrived, and had a lovely plateful of tomatoes several different ways, with burrata and jamón, some glasses of wine, and dessert, before heading home.
