step-through inconvenience

Nothing fell off on the way through to Ayr, but only because I was glaring at it so much. I was very close to not bothering when two out of three possible rack-mountable bike's frames turned out to be not have large enough gaps in, but one eventually fitted in the boot along with the smallest one.
