Election preparation and Cycling.

The day started in town where we were getting ready for tomorrow's election, setting everything up in "Polling Station Nr. 5". It took a couple of hours because it's our first time in this school and we had to decide how we'd do it and where we put everything.
The extra shows where we will be sitting as the votes go into the ballot box and we tick the register to show that person has voted. Nearest the camera is one of the voting booths where the voters put their ballot papers into the envelopes. Harling Darling has written a lot more about this part of the day.
Once that was completed we headed home and after a cup of coffee set out on our bikes for a 13 km round trip on our small roads. Half-way round was our local shop where we could pause and eat an ice-cream. No point burning those calories for nothing!
The trip was also our first time out together on our new bikes and we spent time adjusting bits and pieces as we went. I think everything is set up now, although my saddle may go up another centimetre on the next trip out.
As you see here Jan was very happy at the end our trip. Her new bike had worked well and she'd climbed even the big hill at the end of the trip without too much trouble. We both had our electrical assistance turned off for a lot of the flat and downhill bits, and we both used the highest level of help only once, on that last killer hill up to our village.
No cycling tomorrow, and probably no blip, as we are in action at the polling station from just after breakfast until somewhere around midnight.
It will be a relief when the election is over tomorrow night as it has been a bit of a slog campaigning for these past weeks. They'll be plenty to worry about as the parties negotiate and try to steer what sort of coalition will eventually govern Sweden but we can't take part or do anything about that. Being a passive observer is much easier than being a participant!
