 David Bowie did actually sing this in German for a little known film called Wir Kinder von Bahnhof Zoo. 


This plaque is at the front of his Berlin flat, where he was very prolific for a while, and IMHO, producing some of his best material. Also resident for some of the time was Iggy Pop.
