Gillipaw's Journal

I attended the Sir James Caird 2012 Gala Concert here in the Stevenson Hall this afternoon.

A treat to hear so many professional musicians come together, who have all benefited from the Caird Travelling Scholarships Trust.

Jamie MacDougall was the host, and sang several times. My favourite pieces were two songs Kishmul's Galley, which was dedicated to Kenneth McKellar, and Castles in the Air which Jamie sang with Arlene Rolph.

The other performers were Laurie Gargan, Mark O'Keeffe, Kate Valentine, Nadine Livingston, Hector Scott, Claire Docherty, Scott Dickinson, Alasdair Tait and Fraser Gordon. Iain Burnside and Laura Baxter accompanied on the piano.

A rushed shot as I went in, decided to go for a Barrioboy tilt!
