CannyScot's Day

House of Dun

A beautiful, warm sunny day

We decided to visit House of Dun near Montrose. It is set in beautiful grounds and woodlands with a lovely garden. It was good to have a picnic, walk round the woodland trail and to se the lovely flowers on display.

Later, we went to Montrose Harbour, where we saw the statue to Bamse, a St Bernard who was honoured as a hero for what he did during the Second world war. We also chatted to a couple of bikers, who had powerful, colourful motor bikes and just loved travelling around.

In the evening I watched the most drama filled tennis match I have ever seen as Serena Williams had a major 'melt down' at the US Open Final in New York. She was soundly beaten by a young Japanese girl who managed to remain calm during all the drama.

If you would like to see photos of the gardens and more you might want to head over to my Flikr Album
