Food for free

Among many other things I made an apple and blackberry pie for pudding to follow our roast. The apples come from mum and dad's garden and we picked the blackberries at the allotment this morning. So just a bit of pastry knocked up and hey presto - a pie! However, the kids requested crumble next time. And I thought they'd be pleased with a change from crumble!!

The rest of the day has been lots of washing, some ironing, a little bit in the garden, and taking up Henry's trousers - which I'm doing now as I watch Vanity Fair.

I could do with another day, for a bit of rest!!
