Happy new year.

In the Jewish calendar we are now in the year 5779, which is quite a mouthful. Rosh Hashana is the name of the traditional holiday so we entertained The Yoga Mama and Mr S, although as usual we drastically over-catered. I will be having vegan shepherds pie for the next three days. Our other faux pas was to forget to take the challah out of the freezer so this attractive looking loaf couldn’t really be eaten. Not that it’s vegan anyway (it has egg in it).

Rather exhausting really, what with all the cooking and cleaning up. Did have time for a lovely coffee, just the two of us, late morning. I think that may have been my favourite bit of the day ...
