Minster Bells
SUNDAY
A quick run up to the moor and back this morning.
This afternoon we went on the "Hidden Gems" tour in Halifax Town Centre. A number of buildings that are normally closed to the public were open as part of the heritage weekend.
The sights included:
The basement of the Town Hall including the windowless cells that served the old courtroom.
The refurbished Princess Buildings which included a former bank. The bank safe has been converted to a meeting room.
The "Street in the Sky" - two streets of houses with entrance doors on the roof of the Borough Market.
The cellar of the Ring o'Bells. Hidden in the basement is a grave stone with the inscription relating to the Priestly Family. Often an old man is seen sitting near the fireplace, in addition reports of objects been thrown around have been made and the flicking of light switches. Also the ghost of an old woman in old fashioned clothing walk by smelling of lavender.
The bell tower of the Halifax Minster (Bells shown in the blip)
Finished the day with a meal at La Luna.
