Taped wedding ring
Back to North Shore Hospital today.
Everything went smoother today. They made Mum the first afternoon surgery, we had hardly sat down when she was called through, lots of information and good communication.
The wedding ring stayed. "Oh that's very sweet Mum". "I haven't taken it off for years and I can't take it off" she said with a twinkle in her eye. Even if she could remove it I doubt Mum would. She'll tell me what awful hands she has but I think they look wise and beautiful.
For the second day in a row Dad and I spent the afternoon together. Late lunch first then various errands. It was warm and a long cold drink in a quiet cafe restored us both. More waiting in a cool spot in the car until we received the call to say we could take Mum home.
All has gone well. Everything that was supposed to happen and none of the bad things that might have happened did.
6.75 hours from leaving their home to returning again. It was worth every minute of it and I feel oh so tremendously relieved.
Just one Mum to make comfortable and one Dad to feed.
Nice.
