Pagodas of Bagan

Bagan is known for the 2000 plus pagodas within about a 10 square km area. They are an amazing sight. Some are broken and dilapidated while others are restored or being so. It is difficult to get a photo of the landscape which is so intriguing and unique. Overwhelming.

In my little bit of research I found that in the 10 to 12th centuries various kings of the time tried to outdo previous rulers. Bagan was the centre of the kingdom.
