Birthday

This is the activity that brings the hordes to Noirmoutier on weekends that coincide with low tide.  They scoop and scratch about for mussels, clams and oysters.  Standing about and chatting forms part of it too (extra).  We went up to the camping office this morning to ask if they had room for us to stay on.  They were under pressure from a lot of people asking the same thing.  The girl said we could stay tonight but we would have to move pitch.  To stay tomorrow night we would have to go through the same process and move pitch yet again.  Naomi thanked her, saying that it was her (Naomi's) birthday.  We had just returned to the camper when the girl came down on her little golf buggy to say that she had shifted other bookings around and we could stay as loing as we like on the pitch that we already had.  It was a birthday present, she said!  We had lunch in the town at our favourite fish restaurant.
