Serendipity
Apart from a visit to the dentist this morning, not much pain though just to the pocket, it's been a most serendipitous day.
After the Dentist I went to a well known book store to buy some birthday cards, one for Mr T tomorrow, and whilst browsing through a book called 'Go Slow England' all about 'Special places to stay, slow travel and slow food' on the first page I turned to was one of my old flat mates in London in the 60's and her husband showing off her fabulous house in Fox Hill, London where she now has a B&B. We've stayed in her lovely house and admired her beautiful art work, quilting and lovely collection of collectibles from all their travels. So nostalgic and that was just the first of the day. After that there was a 2 hour amble round the supermarket - I'm not keen on supermarket shopping but meeting a friend round every corner and the obligatory chat and catch up made the time pass pleasantly and so quickly - thank goodness Mr T wasn't with me!
And the Serendipity didn't finish there as on my walk this evening to deliver something to a neighbour I passed by a newly built house which I lust after and whilst doing so I hadn't noticed the new owner sitting in his car on the drive. I had to apologise for my lusting and explained that I had watched the house being built, knew the chap who had built it since he was a little boy and thought I would really like to live there. He said 'oh do come in and meet my wife Lizzie' - would be rude not to I thought, and so I went in and met Lizzie and their lovely dog .........
An hour later I came out and decided I would definitely like to live there and I think I'll be seeing a lot more of Lizzie and John in the future, she being a crafter and John a hill walking guide, artist and musician.
My Blip: my Clematis Montana having another go.
