Quieter day for a change
I was actually up early and finalised my photos and checked a couple of things for work that needed done. Neil only surfaced after midday.
It was the first day we did not have any plans or commitments and we were very happy about that.
Sometimes it's hard to arrange the social life when you are only short around. The list of friends in Berlin seems to get always bigger.
We left the house at 2 pm only and dropped one of Neil's utility kilts at the dry cleaner, then headed toward Türkenmarkt.
On the way we stopped at the Kiezrösterei, mainly to take back a bag of beans I bought last time, because the must have had a "roasting accident" - they were almost burnt!
We did have a coffee of course.
It was quite warm today and we walked a slower pace than usual.
Ate the merket I went straight to Grumpy Galette and got my breakfast/lunch galette. I so love galettes, I am even considering to get a galette maker for home!
We bought some of the world's best cinnamon and then had a chat with the Salami Man - and got some salami too.
From the market we walked further to 19 grams at Schlesi. We usually take the U-Bahn, but it was interesting to walk there. We saw some nice places we were not aware of before.
We also saw that there was a Vanille and Marille Ice Cream Parlour! The have the BEST Ice cream in Berlin. All organic and full of flavour!
We had coffee at 19 Grams and got some beans to take home.
While sitting thwre we made plans for tomorrow. We want to do a boats trip on the Spree going through Köpenick to Müggelsee. From there we will make our way back home and have a closer look at Köpenick, which is supposed to be very nice.
On the way home we stopped at Vanille and Marille and had our first ice cream this time. I even tried a different flavour to my usual.
We will have a quiet evening today and look forward to that.
More adventures tomorrow.
Blipping a coffee for a change. 19 Grams serve one of the best coffees in Berlin! Together with our local Chapter 1.
