Mad Max
Today I have been mostly sweeping up the 3,602,005 leaves that fell in the wild weather during the night. I have bagged them and put them behind a shed to hopefully turn into some leaf mould for next year.
I then decided to go for a brisk walk round the circuit starting off at the sea where I was joined by Max. He was on the look out for gullible types who might throw sticks. Yes, he found one. I don't think he's hugely bright for I had just thrown a stick and he'd lost it. Unfortunately I couldn't get rid of him and he accompanied me on the circuit. He was very well behaved but I've never seen a dog pee so much - every few seconds! Just as we were returning home his owner drove by the in the car. Apparently they have one of those invisible dog fences that adminster a shock everytime the dog goes near it, but Max has found the loophole.
Tonight I'm off to a talk about a boat that has recently been excavated in the mud off Schull. It dates from the 17C and was carrying a cargo of coconuts - the earliest coconuts to ever be found in Ireland! Could be interesting.
