The wisteria arch.

Early into the new term and the first of two on site drawing days with my A level students. This was taken in Walkden Gardens which is a real gem in Sale, about 6 miles south of Manchester. Maintained mostly by volunteers, the gardens include a long turfed avenue with deep herbaceous border, a herb garden, one of the UK’s best Japanese gardens and thus, the wisteria arch under which two of my students decided to sit and sketch.
