Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Lunch at book club today raised the bar I’m afraid!    A work of art and culinary excellence deserves a blip from this (impressed) non-cook.   Also, D made several kinds of cookies!!! Oh my.
The book, The Hummingbird’s Daughter,  was a wonderfully lyrical, funny and magical portrait of Mexico in the 1880s written by Luis Alberto Urrea about a distant relative who became a saint, and the struggles leading her to cross the border to the USA in search of that better life.  There is a sequel I’d like to read.   This author has also written a book (the Devil’s Highway) about the border many years ago……whatever has changed….?  A good choice, M.! (extra)

Tomorrow we are taking off on a car trip —hoping to 1)learn a lot about the new car and 2)visit some spectacular and different scenery for this journal.  Hope the new camera can catch it.
