Villa Monastero

A trip over the waves to Varenna today took us to Villa Monastero. We were last there back in June and we were wondering how the gardens are getting on after the long hot summer.

The conclusion is they were possibly even better than back in June. While we were in the gardens a couple of wedding parties arrived for photo shoots. Both groups arrived by water taxi. So aside from the photographer, even the transportation is going to have been expensive.

We had a panino each for lunch next to the lake in the garden of the Villa. It was very pleasant in the shade of the trees. Taking the ferry back to Lenno we were amazed there are so many visitors here still. There seem to be more than in previous years at this time.
