Lakeland Bridge
Third back blip. We set off on a walk from the village of Dent which is very quaint and has a lot of cobbled streets. Although it is in Cumbria it is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is home to England's highest mainline railway station, 1,150ft above sea level on the scenic Settle - Carlisle line. The station itself has been made into a three bedroom holiday property for rent.
The weather was cold but dry to start with and then the heavens opened and we had rain and hail. We were revived by steaming hot tea and bacon and egg sandwhiches at the Meadowside Cafe and plodded the last 100 yards to the car park.
