Hawthorn Berries
I love it that there are so many berries on the hawthorn hedge that lies between, my pug walking park, and the farm land beyond.
The hedge is consideŕably old going by all the gnarled old branches and stumps, which are a haven for lichen, blackberries, elder,...and a home to all manner of nature.
Before the hedge was planted, there was a wooden farm fence, which is evidenced by the partial fragments of wooden posts here and there. I often wonder to myself, as I wander with the pugs, just how old the hedgerow is.
Today, Jane and I, had a visit from an old work colleague who took a tea break with us, in between visiting clients. It was nice to see her, and to have a cuppa together.
