Sunlit Stump

Walking in the woods this morning I was taken with this tree stump and the sunlight shining on it. Add in the moss, the little ball of yellow lichen and the texture of the decay and of the bark and I thought it was quite a nice shot.

I spent the rest of the day cutting the front hedges, bagging the trimmings and taking them to the tip.

One of our neighbours has brought us a bag of apples from their tree - they are cooking apples and there is about 4 kg. Need to think of something to do with them now - we don’t need any more jam.
