The Secret Lives of Little Creatures
My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess,
Something very odd has arrived on our window sill. These three little men.
"They are called 'Grubbs'," explained Cazza. "The one on the left is a Helper Grubb, the one on the right is a Ninja Grubb and the one at the front looks after pebbles."
I was none the wiser.
Though I must confess they remind me of Clangers. I feel like I should get a Swanny Whistle so I can communicate with them.
It turns out that Cazza had located these as the work of an artist called Helper Goblin on Etsy. I have no idea what she was doing on Etsy. Or why she should be searching for goblins. It is like I am married to this total stranger.
She went on to tell me that Ninja Grubb and Helper Grubb both come with scarves, but Pebble Grubb does not. She wrote to the artist and explained that, as Wellington is cold and wet, she was concerned about Pebble Grubb.
The artist wrote back saying that this was indeed a concern and he would ensure that Pebble Grubb also got a scarf. As you can see he is sporting it proudly in the picture.
But it made me wonder about Cazza and her online life on Instagram and Facebook and Etsy and Pinterest and Twitter. She subscribes to all these things and I can frequently find her chuckling away to Shit Towns of New Zealand or The New Town Flaneur.
It's a bit disconcerting. I wonder how she would feel if I spent a lot of time on a social media website talking all about our lives? I'd better make sure I never do that.
