Recession

Awoke to SNOW and a temperature of -1C! Not what I expected to be photographing in September. Temperature never rose above freezing all day and snow fell intermittently throughout. This lead to some wonderful misty visibility at times.
We went to Cascade Ponds, where the day was enhanced by good views of an Elk as well as the magnificent scenery - Extra 1.
See John Gravetts Blip for a view of the Elk.
It was then on to Bankhead an abandoned mining settlement with remnants of the mining gear they used lying scattered about - Extra 2.
The main Blip was taken on the way back when we stopped at the roadside at Hillsdale meadows and inadvertently created a traffic jam as cars stopped on both sides of the road on seeing a group of photographers, who they assumed were photographing wildlife. At one point dozens of cars, RVs etc were trying to see the animal we were photographing, They couldnt believe we were actually interested in the scenery.
