Iron Spikes

One of he advantages of the little Fuji x-10 is having a wide maximum aperture. This means that be setting it somewhere around f2.8 and going into the telephoto end of the zoom range, it becomes possible to play about with shallow depth of field effects. This is almost impossible with any other compact I have ever owned and is a product of that large aperture and a much bigger sensor than is common in compacts. There are times when I wish I had a medium format digital camera like a Hasselblad or that interesting looking Pentax. As it was in the days of film, so it is with digital. Large sensors/frames of film show inherently shallow depth of field.
So, I went playing with the effect today.
