Yangon last tour

We flew from the Dryzone that Bagan is in, to arrive at Yangon in a torrential downpour with dramatic lightning and crashing thunder. We hired a car to take a last tour of the city because of the long wait till our connecting flight to Hanoi. However it was hard to get a view of anything. It was splashing from cars and pouring down drains and people were paddling. Wow!

We did enjoy lunching at House of Memories which was Aung San's house - father of Aung San Su Chi. And we explored the house of U Thant, the Director General of the UN from 1961 till 1971 which is now a museum. What an amazing man and even more so having come from such a troubled country.

Must dos in Yangon.

Easy to do even in a monsoon as the driver can get you right up to the door totally dry. Nice driver!
