Long bracted tickweed....

....this is about it for this years' wildflowers, as everything else (except the ragweed) is all dried up! I must have looked at some 10 different tickweed plants to find flowers that still looked good, as many of them have lost petals or are getting brown spots or are droopy. These were a bit more sheltered, which probably accounts for them still looking good. At any rate, it gave Mae and I a bit of exercise as we searched for the perfect specimen, & at 75 F & sunny, it's perfect weather for spending time outside!
