New Forest Wildlife Park (Thursday 13th Sept 2018)
Zoo Trip #65
Yesterday I met up with the Spotlight Kid at the New Forest Wildlife Park. It was a return visit as we'd met up there five years earlier but encountered quite a lot of rain. This time the weather was more favourable and the animals were quite obliging. Some highlights of what we saw were the giant otters, foxes, the lynx, the Asian short-clawed otters (see Extra), the grey wolves, polecats, pine martens, Scottish wildcats, a red deer and a bison. One of the first animals we saw was this feral ferret who posed very obligingly for us.
In the afternoon we drove to Buckler's Hard, an 18th century village where warships for Nelson's navy were built, and had our picnic lunch sitting by the estuary (see second Extra).
