Bakers Day

No not a day off school but a day trying my hand in the kitchen.
Clare has a liking for cherry scones at £1.20 each and a couple every few days - the cost soon mounts up, anyway I thought “how difficult can it be?”
A dozen scones, a loaf of banana bread, a pear and apple crumble and a Shepherds Pie took the best part of the day but I found myself enjoying it.

The test came a few hours later when Clare tried a scone and declared herself “very happy”.

And as the sign above the Dining Room door says:
“If Mum ain’t happy - Ain’t nobody happy”
