Destination: Durango! Day 3

We made it to Durango CO and the home of H’s brother, T ( blipper stationmaster)and s-I-l. But not before driving thru thick smoke from the wildfire... ( the road was closed last night but opened this morning...whew!). All too familiar. But the sun came out , the sky turned blue and the rocks turned red and gorgeous and we are glad to be here visiting for a few days before getting back on the road with shorter days! This is their back deck next to the tracks that you can just see for the Durango-Silverton narrow gage RR ( which isn’t traveling on this part right now as the track was wiped out with mudslides earlier ) T is a model train geek and loves the train so close...

Edit. I changed the photo to include MA her yummy dinner...kale/butternut squash and there was birthday cake after for us both! She is an artist with the table settings... then we were too tired for anything else....
