Bow Lake

Brrrr, it's really getting cold now.  The forecast for the weekend at our hotel, just below the Athabasca Glacier, indicates a maximum temperature of -5 Deg C.

We left our base of the last few days at Canmore for the trip towards Jasper.  We're staying over for the next two nights at the Glacier View Inn, a stone's throw from the base of the glacier.  On the trip up we stopped at various locations in eluding Herbert, Hector and Bow Lakes, before looking down on the beautiful blue waters of Peyto Lake (see one of the extras).  Snow has continued to fall and the unseasonable weather looks likely to maintain its hold on the region for the coming week.  Mildly frustrating when you realise most of us had packed for temperatures between 10 and 20 deg C!
