Beadnell, a little Gem of a Harbour
Originally built to export Lime produced in the kilns on the Harbour wall, it still provides a haven for a handful of fishing boats and on the other side of the inner harbour wall where the boats are moored a score or more of small pleasure sailing craft are anchored on the beach, of a wonderful curving bay, with shallow water, and a great beach backed by sand dunes over 70 feet high, the beach stretches unbroken for miles in the direction of High Newton by the Sea.
For more than 30 years we, and the children came here each summer and camped nearby
