Red Bird of Paradise

I used to mistakenly call this plant the Mexican  Bird of Paradise.  It's close but I've recently found out that those plants have mostly yellow flowers.  This one is red, orange and yellow.  They are beautiful bushes, can can be enormous in size and seem to be everywhere.  I put a shot of a larger section of a bush as an extra.  They bloom during the monsoon.  Since it's beginning to dry out, I thought I would post a few of this year's crop from the neighborhood because the flowers will be withering soon.

Mom and I went to see the movie The Wife, with Glenn Close.  It was really good.  I wouldn't be surprised to see her get nominated for an Oscar or Golden Globe.
