Shoppers’ revolt

Today was the ‘Shoppers’ Revolt,’ the plastic packaging day of action. There were no local supermarkets earmarked for mass protests but Mrs TT, the intrepid eco-warrior, was determined to do her bit individually! She bought the shopping and then after the checkout took off all the unnecessary plastic packaging and handed it in at customer services with a letter. There was nobody else doing the same but the point was made. I notice tonight that Waitrose is abandoning single use plastic bags which is a step forward.
