Black Rhino

We were amazingly lucky today to see this Black Rhino up close and personal. He was enjoying a sausage tree fruit and didn't even seem to notice that we were nearby. They are very rare and endangered due to poaching. And usually they are illusive and shy. Lucky for us this big fellow was having a great time chomping on his fruit.

You might notice the regular cut marks in his ears. That means he is one of the rhinos that is being watched by the rhino conservation group in Kenya and Tanzania. The cut marks are his id code.
