Who needs sun...?
...when the fall colors are still vibrant? Our back garden (which is actually a hill) looks a bit like an Arizona landscape, with a few too many pointy plants, yet beautiful oaks and maples are all around us.
Our daughter showed up this morning determined to go to the farmhouse to retrieve a hutch which she thinks is perfect for the entry. After Ozzie loudly expressed his outrage last night over being left in the office for the night (where he has always slept---just a different office,,,) we decided to move his bed into our bedroom, which proved to be a satisfactory solution. Apparently OilMan thought so too because he commented that he rather liked having Ozzie sleeping next to him. That remark outraged ME , so #1and I decided to leave the two of them home to bond while we went to retrieve the hutch.
As we staggered down the farmhouse with it, I marveled once again at the strength of the darling moving guys, any one of whom could probably have carried it in one hand! We do seem to have a lot of really heavy furniture, (including a cement coffee table and two stone Buddhas) which they cheerfully hauled to the designated spots. #1 and I laughed at some of the notations indicating the contents of the boxes --i.e. "dish art"? She finally said, "why don't they just put 'useless crap' on some of these boxes?" Case in point--a carefully wrapped parcel containing:
1. A wind-up monkey who bangs cymbals together
2. A small child's headband
3. A 10 pound note
4. Nine pennies
I thought I had gotten rid of a lot of stuff, but our garage is rapidly filling up with more. It doesn't really matter since we can't figure out how to program the garage door opener. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we have never had a garage!
#1 was right. The hutch looks perfect in the entry.
