Amos and Andy
Here's a semi interesting factoid.
I first published a photograph of one of these sheep on 1 October 2016.
I have now returned to the scene and learned a bit about these sheep from the owner.
The sheep are pedigree Cotswolds sheep, named Hardcastle Ablington and Hardcastle Ampney, born at Easter 2012, sired by the renowned ram Tingewick Centurian (George) out of James Hook of Cote's ewes.
Known as Andy and Amos they are a fine example of the breed which has roamed the Cotswolds for 2000 years.
However, Amos suffered from a most unfortunate incident.
While grazing elsewhere, he was chased into a stream by a dog and spent a most uncomfortable night.
It took three men to lift him out because of the weight of his sodden fleece.
Unfortunately by this time his ears had been nibbled away by Red Signal crayfish (an alien species to these waters).
He was treated and now lives contentedly in this paddock.
When I photographed him back then, one clever, observant Blip-person noted "but what tiny ears". Well done V985, I always knew you were a genius.
So today's entry show them both, one with ears (Andy) and one without ears (Amos)
