Migrant hawker
I chanced on this lovely dragonfly taking a rest on a foxglove stem at Dancersend Reserve this afternoon. This Migrant hawker may indeed be an autumn migrant, but just as likely to have bred at local open water sites like Tring Reservoirs or large ponds. Apparently the yellow golf-tee mark on the second abdominal segment is the thing to look for. A close up posted as an extra.
