Time to quit ?

Found this clock and lighter,  lying next to a wheelie bin, while walking the fitbit.

I don't actually think the residents of the house had thrown the clock and lighter on the ground.  Odds are, the defunct items, were simply thrown out.  Suspect a "dustbin diver", had gone through the rubbish and left it out.  Why ?  Who knows ?  But is does make  for a Freudian message.

PS.  This happened on Sunday afternoon.  The dustbins were scheduled to be collected on Friday morning.
