A trip to Cambridge
Luke had an early morning appointment at the physio and we made it through the morning school-run traffic, and were only a few minutes late. Great progress, and his knee extension is now much more than expected for this early stage of only 2 weeks since the operation. He is being very diligent with his physio exercises and cycling on a stationary bike which has helped his progress.
When I got home we packed the car to take Adam back to Cambridge. Cambridge (and Oxford) are different to other universities in the UK in that they offer accommodation for the entire period of your studies, so Adam was able to stay in his college rooms for the entire four years of his degree. However this year he and a few friends have decided to move out of college into a house they have rented independently of the college, and today he moved his stuff into the house in readiness for the start of term. His lectures don't start for a while so he will be coming back home again until they do start, but at least most of his stuff is now in his room at the house.
It takes about and hour and a half to drive to Cambridge on a good day, but most often due to traffic it takes much longer. Today was a good day regarding traffic - we live within the M25 and equidistant to Cambridge whether we go clockwise or anti-clockwise. This morning we went anti-clockwise to get there but coming home we drove clockwise so today we drove the entire M25. *
It was unbelievably warm today, the car temperature recorded 26C as we drove into Cambridge. We popped into town to get some lunch where I took a few photos - this is a view of Corpus Christi College seen from the porters gate, and the extra is a typical scene in Cambridge. It has been a long day so I hope to have a relaxing evening tonight
* For those who are not familiar with the main roads of the UK, the M25 is a circular motorway that encircles greater London.
