Ittoqqortoormitt

Ittoqqortoormitt is a tiny settlement of c400 people in east Greenland. A real sense of community - it has to, it is so remote and is plunged into 24 hour darkness during the winter months.

I didn’t take many pics as it is pouring with rain.

This is Tore - for 27 years, twice a day he (or a team member) inflates a weather balloon with equipment attached, and it was so nice to talk to him.

Another great thing about the place is the puppies .... sled dog puppies roam freely around the town in their first year. However I think the weather kept them snuggled up in the kennels with mum as I only got to play with 2!

Afternoon zodiac cruise - spotted 2 polar bears, but only through binoculars.
