Well here I am in Redditch to attend an event for work. It was a bit of a blustery drive up with Storm Ali passing through but nothing compared to the strong winds further north.

I arrived at my hotel in good time so popped out for a walk to get some fresh air and stretch my legs. It is usually interesting to see the local area - in this case a slightly soulless looking hinterland between Redditch and the M42! Nonetheless I discovered a reasonable looking leisure centre with a running track - both of which were being well used, a cemetery filled with well tended plots, and this rather lovely bridge over a small river, or perhaps canal. This area was at the heart of the industrial revolution so perhaps this bridge is a reflection of the importance of the transport links and the wealth created in this area at that time.

Hopefully I will catch up with a few of my colleagues for dinner and then it will be an early start tomorrow to get to the event to set up ahead of its opening. Hoping the wind and rain are kind to us.

Wishing you all well and hope to be in touch tomorrow!
