Stories

The children were desperate to go and meet a new neighbour baby after school today. It's very much the expectation here to visit the new baby as soon as he or she comes out of hospital (the poor mums).

It was lovely having our first team meeting this evening since coming back, we have such a great team. Then we visited a Syrian family. Their situation is so sad. The dad wants to get to Europe and is willing to leave his wife in order to do so, she's too scared to go. I met his sister for the first time who arrived here recently. Her husband went to work one day and never came back. They expect he's been killed by da'esh. She has liver disease but they can't get the treatment needed here. Her children can't go to school, they have to look after her. They live in bad conditions in one of the camps. J told them a bbl story and asked the children what they would ask for if they could choose anything. One of the sons said, ''For my mum to get better '' the other said, ''for my dad to come back to us ''. I am so hoping we can help them in some sort of way.
