Storm Ali was, as predicted, unusually severe ( for this time of year) in Edinburgh and on the east coast of Scotland.
There was a gust of 102 mph recorded in Dundee and tonight, walking back to my flat, I discovered that Calton Terrace Brae was still blocked by fallen debris.
Cathleen was going to come through for dinner but sensibly abandoned the idea mid afternoon. Cailean is still working his way north from London, coping with the fact that the Edinburgh bound train terminated at Newcastle .
