Old friend

If you've ever been a student in Glasgow and have suffered from the joint student syndrome (JSS) of procrastination with a smattering of short attention span, I can pretty much guarantee that you'll have spent some time at the Mitchell Library.

The Mitchell can be a real beacon of quiet and calm. I've spent so much time there over the past six years or so that it's almost like an old friend. I dread the day that the Cooncil decide to renovate, sounding the death nell of the chintzy carpet, the orange curtains and the lovely brownness everywhere.
